I see that. The problem is, the framers ran from theocracy. It's important that people get out and vote their convictions. Or, we could just pray for the rapture. That would get rid of their holy asses.
And what concept would that be? Not paying insurance money for women to obtain birth control while paying insurance money to men for viagra? I can't think of anything more clear, nor clearly discriminatory against women. There is no logical reason to do these two things at the same time except to make women pregnant, or allow men to have sex without consequences but not women. You can't have it both ways. Well, except if you are a far right religous nut, then the Rapture can't come soon enough for me.
I understand equality. As an Irish American (omg, I said that) I know that Irish women were once truly equal to men. They lived, owned, fought, loved, led, ruled and traded as equals to men. Only when the English came along was the idea of "chivalry" (minimizing the role of women with the rational that they needed protection) were the women of Ireland subjugated. The Irish respect for women is a faint granddaughter of those times before the English.
But I don't want to have sex with some ditzy white blonde woman so we can pollute the earth with hideous little white kids... DANG IT WHERE DA BLACK WOMEN AT?
Yeah, where I live both homosexuality and interracial relationships are very taboo... Let alone my step-father abused me over the issue because he didn't want me to become gay since I didn't like any of the girls at school (because most were bible-thumping white kids with lots of money).
Well, there ya go then. Step father should mind his own business, as should we all where personal, private matters are concerned. And they SURE don't need to be legislated, especially in the name of religion. And religion and money are the only two excuses.
Yes, I should hope so. The older people will die and go to their homoless heaven and the younger ones who grew up within these discussions will take over. Then this will all be done with. It's just surviving until then. Personally, I think religious leaders who preach hate for gays and lesbians should spend eternity blowing pedophile priests in hell.
The Irony of it huh. And so many wonder why I criticize the right for being false libertarians. Also, why they don't understand the constitution (constitutionalists my ass) Separation of church and state is there for a reason, so people aren't oppressed because of the beliefs of another faith. Furthermore, it demonstrates complete ignorance of the scripture they're touting.
God has no place in government. I believe but I also know that my beliefs aren't what everyone else believes and I personally would never force that on anyone. I don't think government should have a part in marriage at all, straight or gay. Marriage in the sense is a religious ceremony and if gays can get married down at the local baptist church let em who cares.
I have always said I don't want the government in my vagina, bedroom, OR MY HOME!!!
