Wait a Min.. What?Pennsylvania.  It's the cradle of American democracy.  Philadelphia.  Gettysburg.  Hershey.  The capitol building at Harrisburg is considered one of the two most beautiful state buildings in the entire country.  And today in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, Judge Robin (Robert) Simpson agreed to deny voters their right to vote if they could not afford to obtain a photo identification prior to election.

Currently voters must either show a valid driver's license, military id or passport in order to vote in Pennsylvania.  And here's the clincher: they have to pay for it. This makes the requirement the equivalent of a poll tax, something outlawed by the

lol! I just read a job description for a business contingency and emergency planning director for a community college in Elgin Ill.
I could do the job, but the commute would be a real bastard!

I know, but why not move to that nice place and have a new start, if it's a cool and well paid job ... :confused: I thought you'd be constantly moving from one desaster spot to another for FEMA anyway, and I even remember you moved to a friend for some time, ehmm ... if you asked me (you sorta did), it's a good idea to search for an office job in a nice place, because you won't get any younger ;P and Chicago is not that bad for artists (especially of your generation, ie. famous & my all time fave German musician Peter Brötzmann lives there), it's sorta anarchic (no wonder, Chicago history), but not that focussed on youth culture like NY & SF ... ok, that's how I see it from distance ;-)

Well, right now my son and daughter in law live in Chicago. The problem is, my husband lives and works here in Texas, as does my grandson. We're getting ready to start him in therapy with our without his mother's permission. We might have a custody fight, I don't know. Can't really apply for anything until we get this poor kid settled.
